July 2007

Hi all,

What a wet month June has been! Hopefully you have all been “OK” and not flooded out. Well with a bit of luck, July may change all that and give us some sun for the remaining part of the year.

Just to let you all know, its Lions day the coming Sunday (8th July).

1.   Well the priority for this month now shifts to Lions Day on wheels show. This is a regular event held up at the Bowring recreation park in Wellington. The day starts with a cavalcade from the Wellington swimming baths at 9.30 Am.

Things to sort:

1. I have filled in the applications form for us to al attend if we are able to attend on the day.

2. There is no entry fee to display, but if you arrive after 10.AM an entry fee may be applicable.

3. The location is the Bowring Recreation Park off Herbert Avenue, Wellington. The A5 runs past it and so does Haygate road, but you must enter through the Herbert Avenue entry by the cricket pavilion.

4. If I can have confirmed number for attendance for Sunday then I will know which Gazeebo to bring.

5. We have some Literature to hand out to public and hopefully you have some to put inside your car already from the Weston Park show earlier this year.

Background.

The show is held on 1 day on an open field with a flat grassed area. The flat area is given to trade stands, club displays & a display arena. Surrounding the area are normally steam driven devices such as steam engines, scale steam tractors etc. There are refreshment stalls, craft stalls, donkey rides, a fun fair, live displays, live music & toilets etc. Cars are invited to participate in a cavalcade tour of the town to promote the show and this is only done at the start of the day due to the logistics of such. All cars must be on site by 10AM opening.

2. Here is a quick summary for shows for the next couple of Months. I have highlighted some that we may attend from our conversations last month.
